I really enjoyed actually which suprised me. I've continued to buy her books, despite the "all sex, barely any plot" angle LKH seemed to be wallowing in, just because I enjoy knowing I have a complete series, but the past few books haven't been all that. This one, although heading in the right direction, wasn't a true return to form either.

I'm glad about the sceens with Richard, it's about time he got resolved one way or another.

I'm gad there was a decent plot line, although I kind of saw it all comeng, particularly Olaf, as I'd been waiting for him since OB, and I'm not all that satisfied with the way he was used, I thought there was more potential for him.

I'm glad we're finally getting a hint of why Anita's powers keep growing...it's a kind of obvious reason when you think about it, but satisfying to see it start to come out...even though I know it's not probably going to be mentioned again for another 3 books or something!

I'm not happy about:

-the "issue" with Nathaniel not being really resolved at all by the end of the book.

-Anita not really seeming to have any relationships in this book...we know how many lovers she has, as we keep getting told, but they're not really in evidence at all, particularly Jean-Claude, and pariticularly with the new way the ardeur manifests itself towards the end.

-and as one person said, the issue of Samuel. We're getting far too many unresolved issues going on, which leads to LKH constantly reminding us of what plot development lead to such and such being in her life, but never any closure for books and books into the future!!
